Rustic Roots Farm is a small family farm located on two parcels near Alexandria, MN. Our home property is surrounded by a maple forest. Our farmland is a short commute away. Our mission is to balance sustainable natural resources with a blend of innovative techniques and traditional methods to produce the highest quality products for our customers. We started the farm to teach our kids the values of independence, hard work, self-reliance, perseverance and creative thinking. They are involved in the day-to-day operations of the farm.

At Rustic Roots Farm, regenerative and sustainable practices aren't something we added later—they've been part of how we farm from the start. Our specialty crops, including our award-winning hardneck garlic, are grown naturally without synthetic pesticides or herbicides. We believe food should be grown responsibly and shared locally. That means building healthy soil, working with nature rather than against it, and caring for our land for the long term.

Since 2022, our farm has been honored to be a featured grower at the Minnesota Garlic Festival. Our garlic was named the Best In Show at the 2023 festival amongst growers from four states.

We have successfully completed the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Grower Training Course. Rustic Roots Farm is a member of Minnesota Grown, the Sustainable Farming Association, The Minnesota Premium Garlic Project and the Land Stewardship Project.
